Our Roman Catholic Parish of Buttevant and Lisgriffin is part of the Diocese of Cloyne which is located in the County of Cork, Ireland. We have two churches, St. Mary's Church, Main St., Buttevant built in 1836 and the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Lisgriffin which was built in 1897.

The parish of Buttevant and Lisgriffin includes many various and active groups and ministries, including Choirs, Ministers of the Word, Eucharistic Ministers, Altar Servers, Collectors, Parish Pastoral Council, Parish Finance Committee, Parish Safeguarding Children Committee and the St. Vincent de Paul Conference. For a full list of the different groups go to the section on Parish Ministries.

The Parish has a long and vibrant history which is detailed in the Parish History section. The ruins of the Franciscan Abbey in Buttevant town and Augustinian Abbey at Ballybeg tell a story of strong faith despite the difficulties of persecution and hostility. This strong faith has filtered down through the centuries to present times. Active members of this parish continue to give their time, energy and commitment in creating a thriving and active faith community. There are plenty of ways in which you can become involved in this parish. Approach the Priest or any member of the Parish Pastoral Council and they will direct you in ways that will use your talents and witness for the furthering of God's Kingdom in this area.
