  • Short Term Pledge: As part of its apostolate, the Pioneer Association has a Short-Term Pledge section for adults over the age of eighteen years. This enables a person who does not wish to make a life commitment to total abstinence to take a pledge for a limited period of time. Many have used it to buttress their resolution to stay ‘dry’ for a particular month for their own personal reasons. If you feel that you can and would like to take the pledge for the six weeks of Lent, please go online at www.pioneerassociation.ie and follow the links to join. A small fee applies if you wish to have the Pioneer emblem and the registration card.

  • St. Vincent de Paul Helpline: The Buttevant Conference of the SVDP has a dedicated mobile phone number whereby an application for assistance can be made in confidence. An application for assistance can be made by phoning 086/0209477.
Raise To The Lord

Praise to the Lord,
The Almighty the King of creation.
O my soul praise him,
For he is your health and salvation.
All you who hear,
Now to his altar draw near,
Join in profound adoration.

Praise to the Lord,
Let us offer our gifts at his altar.

Let not our sins and transgressions
Now cause us to falter.

Christ, the High Priest,
Bids us all join in his feast.
Victims with him on the altar.
Now Thank We All Our God

Now, thank we all our God,
With hearts, and hands and voices.

Who wondrous things has done,
In whom the world rejoices.
Who from our mother’s arms,
Has blest us on our way.

With countless gifts of love,
And still is ours today.

All praise and thanks to God,
The Father, now be given.

The Son, and him who reigns,
With them in highest heaven.

The one Eternal God,
Whom heaven and earth adore,
For thus it was, is now,
And shall be evermore.
